Reflectors are young women who possess the ability to wield the power of human emotions as a tangible force. Through specialised Reflector Rings, they convert these feelings into energy referred to as Ether, allowing them to transform, manifest weapons, and fight against threats originating from the Common and beyond.

At their core, Reflectors act as intermediaries between the real world and the emotional realm. By resonating with the feelings of others, they are able to enter Heartscapes, stabilise Fragments, and confront manifestations of emotional turmoil. Their power is not simply drawn from their own emotions, but also from their ability to understand, empathise with, and connect to the hearts of others.

In battle, a Reflector's strength is closely tied to her mental and emotional state. Feelings such as determination, doubt, or empathy can directly influence their power, making their abilities deeply personal and variable. This connection also means that engaging with others emotions, particularly when stabilising Fragments, places a significant burden on the Reflector, as they must directly confront the inner struggles of others.

While Reflectors are capable fighters, their role extends beyond combat. They exist to resolve emotional disturbances, restore balance, and support those whose feelings have become unstable. In this sense, their true strength lies not only in their ability to fight, but in their capacity to understand and connect with others.

Reflector Rings

All Reflectors have a ring comprised of a triangular shaped gem in which the gem color varies. Support Characters have a type of ring as well. In Blue Reflection Ray it is explained that each ring can be worn only by its owner and it can't be taken by force.

The rings used by Reflectors serve as catalysts, enabling this emotional energy to take form. These rings do not grant power to just anyone. Only individuals with a certain sensitivity or compatibility with emotions are able to wield them as a Reflector, not everyone can make use of the rings' power. [1]. This suggests that becoming a Reflector is not merely a matter of possession, but of personal disposition and emotional capacity. There are however instances where a Reflector Ring can protect others who do not possess the capability.

Blue Reflection Rings

Reflectors

In Blue Reflection, Shijō Yuzuki (Yuzu), and Shijō Raimu (Lime) grant Shirai Hinako her Reflector Ring (blue in color). Yuzu and Lime have rings as well, purple and yellow respectively.

Supporters

Rings were also given to some of Hinako's classmates to stabilize their fragments and harness their powerful emotions, each of them with a distinctive color.[2]

Blue Reflection Ray Rings

Blue Reflector Rings

In Blue Reflection Ray the "Blue Reflection group"[3] have the same type of ring, a silver ring with an azure gem in a triangular shape with "Blue Reflection" engraved on the inside of the band.

In pre-reset Timeline, Yuzu and Lime granted a Blue Reflection ring to Hirahara Mio. Tanabe Momo was given a support ring from Mio.

In the current timeline, rings are issued from the AASA to Reflector candidates. Saiki Yuri is seen giving a ring to Mio, that would later become Hirahara Hiori's ring.

The antagonist group, have the same type of ring, except for the color. It has "Rouge Reflection"[4] engraved on the inside of the band. It was created by an unknown organization, with the same technology that the AASA used for Blue Reflection rings. These were given from Mizusaki Shino to her group of Rouge Reflectors.[5]

Rings in Blue Reflection Tie

Reflectors

The returning Reflectors from previous series of Blue Reflection all retain their Reflector Rings.

Supporters

The supporters each wear a Blue Reflection ring; however, for varying reasons, they are unable to harness the power of emotions in order to transform into Reflectors.

Blue Reflection Sun Rings

In Blue Reflection Sun, Reflector Rings continue to serve as the medium through which Reflectors channel their emotions into power however, their use differs from previous entries. Rather than being singular, deeply personal artefacts tied to an individual, rings in Sun are more systematised and widely distributed among Reflectors.

Reflectors are able to utilise multiple rings, each associated with different abilities or combat roles. These rings function not only as catalysts for transformation, but also as a means of augmenting a Reflector’s capabilities in battle. As a result, the emphasis shifts from a single, identity-bound ring to a more flexible system that supports a variety of combat styles and configurations.

Despite this shift, the fundamental principle remains unchanged: only those capable of resonating with emotions can wield a Reflector Ring’s power.
