| “ | Millennia ago, when I battled with my kin, I chose to arm myself with mankind's emotion. Their emotional core generates Ether energy—the most powerful force in existence. I made use of this in the previous battle to vanquish my opponents with ease. My victory secured, I made this world more hospitable to humanity, hoping their greater numbers would grant me strength. |

Story

Background
One million years before the events of Blue Reflection, Daath fought against the other Sephirot and emerged victorious by using human emotions as a source of power. Following this, Daath became the overseer of the world and reshaped it to be more hospitable to humanity, in hopes of preserving their emotions and drawing upon their power should another Sephira appear.
Blue Reflection
After the Sephirot are defeated by Shirai Hinako and her allies, Daath appears before them and recounts their victory over the other Sephirot one million years prior. Daath also reveals their concern that human emotions have grown too weak, and that they may be unable to prevail should another Sephira appear.
To prevent this, Daath proposes merging all of humanity into a single existence. They attempt to persuade Hinako by suggesting that she would no longer feel alone under such a system. Although Hinako acknowledges humanity's flaws and recognizes that Daath's plan could allow her to remain with Shijō Yuzuki (Yuzu) and Shijō Raimu (Lime) who are fated to disappear after the Sephirot's defeat, she ultimately refuses.
Despite understanding that Daath's defeat could allow another Sephira to emerge and potentially destroy humanity, Hinako initially chooses only to repel them. Daath then engages Hinako and her allies in battle. Upon being defeated, Daath disappears, stating that they will not forget them and expressing hope that they will meet again. Before vanishing, Daath grants Hinako's wish to retain her memories of Yuzu and Lime.
Blue Reflection Tie
Although Daath does not appear directly in the game, they are mentioned multiple times, particularly by Hinako. She expresses guilt over Daath's defeat, as it left the world without an overseer, leading to the World System releasing the Ash as a consequence and resulting in the destruction of the world.
The others reassure Hinako, stating that given Daath's intentions, she made the correct choice.
Context
Like other Sephirot, Daath exists beyond the level of ordinary enemies and is fundamentally distinct from the Demons generated by a Sephira.
Trivia
- The name "Daath" is derived from the concept of Da'at in the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, where it represents knowledge and is sometimes considered a hidden or non-standard Sephirah.
- Unlike the other Sephirot, Daath is portrayed as the Overseer of the World, having emerged victorious in a prior conflict between the Sephirot.
- Daath's use of human emotion as a source of power is directly tied to Ether, which is described as the most powerful force in existence.
- Daath's goal of merging all humanity into a single existence contrasts with the Reflectors' role, which centers on preserving individual emotions and connections.
- Despite acting as an antagonist, Daath's motivations are driven by a desire to prevent the emergence of a future Sephira that could threaten humanity.
- Following Daath's defeat, the absence of an overseer contributes to the collapse of the world, as later explored in Blue Reflection Tie.
- Daath grants Hinako's wish to retain her memories of Yuzu and Lime after its defeat.
