A Leap (also referred to as Common Leap) is the act of transitioning from the real world into the Common within Blue Reflection, the realm formed from humanity's collective unconscious.
Overview
A Leap allows Reflectors to enter the Common in order to locate and interact with Fragments, confront Demons, and resolve emotional disturbances affecting individuals in the real world. This process serves as the primary method by which Reflectors engage with threats originating from human emotions.
Unlike a passive occurrence, a Leap is an intentional action performed with a specific purpose, typically tied to a target individual or their Fragment.

Mechanics
Targeted Leaps
Leaps are typically performed with a defined objective:
- A specific character experiencing emotional instability
- A known or suspected Fragment
- An ongoing incident (e.g. rampancy)
By focusing on a target, Reflectors can enter the appropriate area of the Common associated with that individual's emotions.
Untargeted Leaps
Attempting to Leap without a clear objective is considered dangerous:
Because the Common represents the collective unconscious of humanity, it is effectively boundless, making unguided entry unpredictable.
| “ | If you leap without an objective, there's no telling where you'll end up. The Common is infinite, after all. | „ |

Function
Leaps serve several key roles:
- Access to the Common - Enables entry into emotional domains (Zones)
- Fragment Retrieval - Allows Reflectors to locate and stabilise Fragments
- Combat Engagement - Facilitates battles against demons and Sephira-related entities
- Emotional Resolution - Provides a means to directly confront and understand a person's inner feelings
Through repeated Leaps, Reflectors strengthen themselves and progress toward defeating larger threats such as the Sephirot.
Relation to the Common
The ability to Leap is directly tied to the nature of the Common itself.
Because the Common is composed of shared human unconsciousness:
- It can be accessed through any individual
- Each Leap leads to a location shaped by specific emotions
- Different "Zones" correspond to emotional states
This makes Leaps both a navigational and interpretive process, requiring Reflectors to understand the emotional context of their target.
